starry eyed for january 7-13

Mon Jan 07- Sun Jan 13

MoonWeek Capricorn thru Aries

We start the week on the dark of the Moon. The end of the lunar cycle. I've heard of many physical and emotional maladies the last 28 days of this moon so I'm sure the news of the New Moon and what it offers will be welcome to many. Some form of a fresh beginning and change is upon us. Don't languish and focus on the wounds, injury and sickness are just an opportunity to feel the strong forces of healing rise up in you. Those that continue to pick the wounds are resigned to staying in the bounds of pain. Our whole reality is about pain according to the Buddha so we all have it. All that can be changed is our reaction to it.

Monday is the dark day of the moon what comes up is the things that wish to be shifted, dealt with and transformed. The New Moon is early Tuesday morning, if you missed it know that it's never to late to check in and give some thanks offer up some intentions and ride the wave.

By the middle of the week on Wednesday we are into the wave of the Aquarius moon, waxing and tossing out ideas and alternatives. It's a bit of an idea blizzard and not all of them are appropriate but it's nice to feel the mind and attitude at a point where it's jumped out of the box. Seriously we have a fresh new year and a moon. So if you're grumbling and moaning then you really need to look at how much you've gotten used to grumbling, moaning and snarking and break that habit. It's not just back emotional physics, it's bad physiology and it dumps the wrong chemicals in your blood stream, lowers your immunity and freezes the , 'creative glands' in their tracks. So it's not just new age babble anymore, you have control of your thoughts every breath, if you keep them in the upbeat zone you improve your physiology.

Wednesday through Friday we have the moon in Aquarius. It's the monthly brainstorm, where the box disappears altogether and we're all out of it. With the waxing moon in our sails we can really see both the forest and the trees, even the sky and roots if you want to. The trouble is the focus goes in and out and thoughts are fleeting at the speed of light.

For groups it can be a bevy of useful ideas or an unraveling of direction. This is not a 'decision moon'. This is the window for things to come to the surface by ricochet means. I'm specifically talking about the u.s.a's presidential elections. All it takes is one misrepresented story to be relentlessly repeated and it can shift focus. We live at the speed of page refresh and RSS feeds, where mere hours after happening something becomes truth by exposure. Witness that Clinton did not cry, merely waxed wistful and it spun into a huge wave that confused all the pundits. In this few days the news from the campaign trail will take backroom paths to get to our ears. Always trace your sources!

Friday afternoon and through the weekend we enter the waters of Pisces. On Saturday Venus is square Uranus and will provide some unusual directions in the arenas of social direction. This is the pattern of 'tough love' in our world. Compassion can take an aggressive tone, or at least switch from passive to active. In the gospels of the Magdalene they translate the 'turn the other cheek' into trying a fresh philosophy in the face of the slap from the status quo. Not a victim 'hit me again' type of thing but an active, creative and evolutionary response. Ultimately active compassion will always trump out, especially in a world with so much violence the response is obviously needed.

kNEW YEAR, Starry Eyed for jan 1- jan 6

Mon Jan 07- Sun Jan 13

MoonWeek Libra thru Capricorn

Yeah time is subjective, particular to each person. But right here right now the Roman calendar rules, 80% of the decade under foot. That's the subjective time part again, it seems like only yesterday. The reality is we all write 08 now.

Monday with the Moon in Libra Mars slips into Gemini, even before
Kiritimati is the first to wander into year 08. This is a great night for a party though and it's a good thing because plenty will be doing that. The Mars in Gemini part is a caution though, we're in a pattern where the war over words is just a slip of the tongue away.

Tuesday night through Friday we're hanging with a Scorpio Moon. Could be some secrets of '07 pop out early in '08. No matter what the Roman calendar says the lunar one tells us this is the darkest part of the moon. Time to dig into yourself while the ground is soft and see what's under there. Psychic tinkering is valuable now. Many will just look away and use distraction devices. The brave and the lucky will purge out those things that are the causes of physical and psychic maladies and as the pop prophet said, "...turn to face the change...".

Mars, fresh in Gemini and Pluto fresh in Sagittarius make their first opposition. It's the beginning of a dance they will do until early April. So words can be the most hard core of weapons. Often something said years ago still stings, but that broken arm is healed and gives no problems. It's a passage where we all have to speak what you really feel and when you feel it. The more time you allow things to fester internally the more likely it is that when released they will fall on the wrong ears, for the wrong reasons.

Thursday night is a prime time for the ills or blessings of this dark moon to burst forth. The moon roams void of course and we have the array of our psyche laid out before us. Those that look are cool with it; those that don't want to can go to extremes to not see the wall much less the writing on it. We'll be awash in what Iowa means according to the pundits. It's 'Horton hears the who' time for our collective American village. Not that I'm a believer that representative democracy is healthy and vibrant, it's a case of some caring to much and others too little. But now is the time to educate yourself and be heard.

The first meteor shower of the year is on, The Quadrantids, so if you think wishing on a star is a better angle there will be thousands to practice on.

On Friday we slip into a different gear for the rest of the week; the Sagittarius Moon. Now you have the wind at your back and the horizon in your sights. The places you want to travel and the things you want to study come to the forefront. Training our wanderlust and desires towards directions that evolve us and those around us is the call. Make lists of all the things you want to do, no matter how outlandish. Just getting them in the physical world will help with the execution. To be able to see your desires is a unique and valuable mirror to see yourself.

On Saturday Venus and Saturn square and the Moon moves into Capricorn. This is some hard-core astral love. A window of a few days where we can see in stark clear light the restrictions of what we perceive as beautiful and in the literary sense romantic. With the overtone of the Moon in Capricorn we can get an accountants view of our amorphous psychic territory. I always say start the new year slow and see what develops rather then toss a bunch of conditions on it from the start. This alignment gives us all a chance to really survey the deep landscape and be honest with ourselves. If you can't be honest with yourself who can you be honest with?
